Aikins named VP for Hub’s East region, based in N.J.

Hub International has appointed Mary Aikins as vice president and practice leader of health and performance for the firm’s Easter region, based in Hub’s Summit, N.J., office.

In addition, Hub International Northeast has hired Timothy McNulty as an assistant vice president in its employee benefits division.

Aikins will be responsible for helping organizations that work with Hub to improve the health and performance of their employees, while improving the health and performance of their company’s bottom line, according to the firm. She will report to Joe Torella, president of employee benefits in the East region.

“Employers are facing greater challenges than ever before and require robust data to manage their businesses while delivering effective tools that their employees can leverage in leading healthier and more productive lives with greater engagement and work-life balance,” Torella said. “Most firms have been stuck on the outdated concept of ‘wellness’ without the right results. Mary’s role will help elevate the performance of our clients in this area.”

Aikins was formerly with Princeton Healthcare Systems, an accountable care organization and clinically integrated network, where she focused on managing the organization’s efforts to coordinate care for high-risk patients through a team-based approach. Prior to that, Aikins managed population health as well as care coordination and practice transformation for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

In his new role, McNulty will also be based in the firm’s Summit, N.J., office and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic employee benefits solutions with a focus on the New Jersey market.

He holds more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry, most recently serving as a senior sales executive with MagnaCare in Tinton Falls, N.J. Prior to that, he was a senior sales executive with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey for 27 years.
